A prolific painter, Adam Gutman signed all of his works under "Benjamin Rajzele" the first names of one of his brothers and one of his sistesr who perished under the hands of the nazis.

A man of many talents, but also a man of many names, Adam Gutman wrote and performed under the pseudonym "George Adams". Despite the open hands in which Jews were recieved with in Canada after WWII, there still existed significant anti-semitism here at home.

Adam Gutman wrote many of the lyrics to his music, despite English and French being his fourth and fifth languages. In his later years he was able to dedicate more time to writing pure prose.

Despite coming from a large pre-war family, most of whom did not survive the nazi atrocities, Adam is survived by only two children Betty (Blima) and Jimmy (Benjamin Leo). He was married to the late Ida (Baron) Gutman, his childhood love.
